So me and my pal were thinking it would be really neat if more people were making emotes. People who make awesome emotes like this: !

It seems weird that you'd have to create an account just to use some of the really funny emotes. So what if a system of checks and balances were to come together, making submitting emoticons similar to films on dA? Anyone could send a note to a dA Admin(s) specializing in emotes, and it would be up to the Admin(s) to decide if one goes on the list, or if it's too similar or identical to be added on. That way, quality of emoticon usage on dA is preserved, we get to use great emotes, and the site might even save a little bandwidth all the while. It's a win win, right?

Um, kinda important. The emotes here on dA are far from boring and dull. We just think there are lots of really talented emote-makers out there who aren't receiving all the credit they could be since their creations are locked up in their deviation galleries. Oh, that and being able to put up high quality emotes for use and actually being part of the dA interface would be mad-cool too.

You know...it's possible that the reason dA hasn't done this before is that lots of these awesome emotes are really big in file size and would eat away the bandwidth.
